Service of Healing and Wholeness at Christmastime
A worship service by candlelight in the chapel to feed our soul and slow our minds as we wait and prepare to receive the real gift of Christmas. All ages are welcome.
Tapas, Talk & Theology
Tapas, Talk and Theology reconvenes for its first fall meeting on Friday, September 17. We are an eclectic group which meets on every other Friday evening in member homes and studies the Bible, accessible theologians, and other scripturally based materials. Our September book is One Blood: Parting Words to the Church on Race and Love by John Perkins, an inspirational voice coming out of the American Civil Rights movement. Sound interesting? It will be! Contact Deborah Slingluff for more details.
Family Mission & Movie Night
Join us tonight for a family mission project to assemble toiletry kits for homeless Baltimoreans and then a Christmas movie. Contact Andrea Hughes at ahughes@secondpresby.org with any questions.
Las Posadas
Las Posadas is a Latin American Christmas tradition. In this nine night celebration people, often children, representing Mary and Joseph take part in a procession that goes from door to door guided by an angel seeking posada, or lodging. At each home they stop and sing songs, but the innkeepers turn them away until the final stop when Joseph and Mary find shelter and are invited in for food and festivities. Join us on December 5th for Second’s version of Las Posadas.
