At Second we engage our youth (middle and high school students) in many ways:
- Bible Study: helping them to delve deeper into the Bible and discover how its messages are relevant to their lives
- Mission Projects: joining together with them in hands-on mission projects here in Baltimore and on summer trips elsewhere in the U.S., and occasionally in other countries, to bring to life Jesus’ call to love thy neighbor
- Participation in Worship: by encouraging them at times to take an active role in worship
- Fun and Fellowship: through experiencing the joys of fellowship together in fun activities like overnight lock-ins, ski trips, ropes course trip, trip to Disney World for the Faith in 3D youth conference, Christmas parties, etc.
Synergy Youth Group: Middle and high school youth are invited to the church on the second Sunday of each month during the school year for evenings of food, games, fellowship, and open and engaging discussions. Meetings are generally held from 4 – 6 pm in Smith Hall.
Confirmation: Second offers confirmation classes for students 8th grade and above every other year. Students learn about community, membership, the rich history of our Presbyterian tradition, and the many ways God continues to be present and active in our lives. The journey of confirmation is an enriching experience that enables us to develop a personal connection to our faith, community and relationship with Christ.
