First Fruits Registration Page

Join Second Presbyterian and Grace United Methodist Churches on Friday, August 14 from 8am to 1pm as we journey together to First Fruits Farm for a day of service. This service opportunity is appropriate for all ages and abilities! Chaperones are available for minor children if needed. Optional transportation and lunch provided.

Did you know that First Fruits Farm provides in-season produce to Walter P. Carter Elementary/Middle School’s Food Pantry? First Fruits Farm is a nonprofit, Christian ministry dedicated to providing fresh, nutritious food for the hungry through volunteer service and community partnerships.  100% of everything the farm grows is donated. Both of our churches are involved at Walter P. – so let’s join forces to help our mutual partners.

Logistical Considerations:

• Those who are taking the bus will gather at Grace at 8am for a strict 8:15 departure. Plan to be on time! The bus will return to Grace at approximately 1pm.
• If you are not taking the bus, plan to be at First Fruits Farm ( 20431 Middletown Rd, Freeland, MD 21053) by 9am. We will work until 11:30, then have fellowship and a picnic lunch before heading home.
• Unaccompanied children are welcome with parental permission form (provided separately). Following the service project, supervision for minors will continue at Second Presbyterian Church until 3pm.
• The registration form below is essential to our church communities for planning, but does not include all of the paperwork required by First Fruits Farm. Once you have completed the registration, please take another 5-10 minutes to complete First Fruits’ required paperwork.
• Second’s Mission Council has generously sponsored a bus to take all participants from Grace United Methodist’s parking lot to First Fruits. To help offset the cost of lunch, consider making a $10 suggested donation. Even better- sponsor someone else by upping your gift! If you indicate your intention to give, you will automatically be directed to an online giving form to complete your payment.

We will gather at Grace United Methodist Church at 8:00am on Friday, August 14th. You may leave your car parked at Grace’s lot. You may also choose to drive on your own and you can park at the farm.
