Mission Book Group

We meet monthly to read and discuss a range of books, both fiction and non-fiction, that expand our understanding of the human experience as lived by many different kinds of people. Mission: Guilford heart market

HEART Markets are the Maryland Food Bank’s pilot program to combat child hunger. It is a festive event that creates an inviting environment for children to obtain healthy food and learn about food nutrition. Second@9 Worship

Second Church welcomes you to a vigorous and family-focused worship service at 9 AM on Sundays. Adult Seminar

Our Adult Sunday School takes place on Sunday mornings during the 10 AM -11 AM Christian Education hour in the Westcott Room from September through May. Come at 9:45 AM for coffee and a chance to catch up with friends or make new acquaintances. Sunday School

On Sunday mornings, we have a dedicated team prepared to care for your children and teach them about God and Christ’s boundless love. Sunday school meets between the two services from 10 AM to 11 AM from September through May. (Occasionally, when one service is held at 10 AM, Sunday School may meet at 9 AM.) 11 am Worship Service

This more traditional Christian worship service is held at 11 AM on Sundays. Whether a lifelong Presbyterian or a newcomer to church life, you will find this service to be both familiar and invigorating. Singing of hymns, reading of scripture, the pastor’s sermon, a time with the children, and anthems from the Chancel Choir, and on occasion our Bells@Second hand bell choir or Children’s Choir all will help you worship God in a meaningful way. Youth Group

Our middle and high school youth group meets weekly (with a few exceptions) on Sunday afternoons from 4– 5:30 PM. Middle and high schoolers meet at the same time, but have separate tracks alternating between “holy conversations” and recreational activities followed by a shared dinner.
