Second Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland, welcomes you no matter who you are, where you come from, or why you are here. We are Christ’s people and this is Christ’s place with its doors wide open. We invite visitors to join with us, and most of all, to return often.
You’d never mistake this building for anything else other than a church- but we are so much more than just bricks and mortar. We’ve been a Christian congregation since August 9, 1803. First located at the intersection of Baltimore Street and Lloyd Street, and then moved to its current location in 1924. Over 40 years of expansion and construction has seen the addition of our present Sanctuary, Chapel, meeting hall, and office wing. From 2005 to 2011, we have undergone major renovations of our worship spaces–adding, improving, and restoring both our Sanctuary and our Chapel.
The congregation of Second Presbyterian Church is an inclusive and diverse group of believers. We are made up of varied racial and ethnic groups, ages, sexes, abilities and disabilities, geographical areas, marital conditions (married, single, widowed, or divorced), and different theological positions consistent with the Reformed tradition.
God is love, and God is good, and we want our life and work to reflect that. We know that it can feel awkward to step into a spiritual community; that is a big, intimidating step – but know that you are not at all alone in your seeking.
